Monochrome portrait of Professor Mildred K Pope frontispiece & three further illustrations. Internally, crisp and clean, occasional spotting. A collection of 35 essays on aspects of French language and medieval literature. Professor Pope, a notable scholar, was one of the first women to be admitted to the faculty at Oxford University, and the first women to be awarded an honorary degree by a French university.
