A new edition (following first publication in 1848). 508pp illustrated with occasional vignettes in text. Engraved frontispiece. Extra, illustrated title page (reproducing the title page from the first edition). Illustrated title page. Fully bound in brown calf's leather, with extensive gilt decorations, red and green leather spine labels. All edge gilt. Silk ribbon marker bound in Inner gilt dentelles surrounding marbled endpapers (boards are just a little rubbed and rounded at corners and spine tips, a little rubbed along spine joints, small black mark on verso). Internally neat, clean, bright and tight barring a little toning on prelim pages. A very handsome and pleasing volume. 12mo. Contains sketches from The Village Schoolmistress to A Moonlight Adventure.
