In its original dust jacket, artwork by Watkiss, chipped and rubbed at edges, fraying at spine tips, scuffed). Ethel Mannin was a profilmic writer of the early to mid 20th century: this novel, loosely based on the true story of a servant girl who runs away with the daughter of the house, is one of her harder to find titles. 0
