Dark blue cloth-covered boards; blind embossed design and border on front; gilt titles on spine; top text block edge sprayed dark blue. 4to. Shelf wear to boards, some small marks on boards (appear to be paint). Bottom front corner bumped; remaining corners and spine ends rubbed; cloth wearing. Light foxing to free endpapers, rear hinge cracking. Internally neat, clean and tight. With sections on the rhythm of evolution, plants and early man, plants and the apothecary, plant fibres and fabrics, etc. Beautifully illustrated throughout. Foreword by Edward J Salisbury
