x, 154pp, black and white frontispiece, 4 black and white plates plus numerous illustrations throughout the text. Brown cloth-covered boards with illustration and titles to front and spine. 12mo. Lightly rubbed spine ends, corners lightly rubbed and rounded. Text block edges heavily tanned; just affecting page margins. Slight tanning to endpapers. Internally, neat, clean, bright and tight barring the occasional foxing. A delightfully illustrated book of Indian folk lores, that were once told by aged storytellers around the lodge fire.
The myths in this volume for little readers, chosen for their quaintness and beauty, have been taken from the lore of several tribes. With a section of explanatory notes for each myth and a section of Things for Children to Make.
