xii, 14-228pp, some black and white photographic plates. Red cloth-covered boards; blind embossed border on front, gilt titles on spine. 8vo. Sun-faded spine; lightly rubbed spine ends, cloth fraying. Soiling and stains to boards. Slightly cocked. Top text block edge dusty, remaining edges starting to tan and fox. Front hinge cracking. Free endpapers starting to fox and tan. Previous owner's name on rear free endpaper. One plate loose; laid-in. Internally neat, clean, bright and tight. Memoirs of Fr Desmond who served his first curacy at the Church of St Mary's, Somers Town, which is situated in the King's Cross, Euston, area of London, at a time of extreme poverty, where food was at a premium and gambling rife.
