First edition, first impression. 176pp, black and white illustrated frontispiece. Turquoise cloth-covered boards; gilt titles on spine. 8vo. Boards gently rubbed at edges, rubbed and rounded on corners and spine ends. Ex lending library, with remains of stamps and pocket on front pastedown; front free endpaper and title page absent; previous owner's label on half-title; some faint, occasional spotting but generally internally neat and clean. A hard to find title. We would not usually offer a book in this condition but it is a hard to find title and this copy will serve as a perfectly good reading copy or fill a gap in a collection until a better copy can be sourced and afforded. From front flap: "This is a pony book with a difference. It deals sensitively with a young girl's companionship with animals, and how she learns to manage them while at the same time developing self-reliance during a period of delicate readjustment."
