Volumes I and II. Undated but likely circa 1950. Uniformly bound in red cloth-covered boards with gilt titles front and spine. 12mo. Boards gently worn on edges, a little rubbed and rounded on corners and spine ends. There's a mild mark on the front panel of volume one, and a dent on the lower edges of the boards on volume two. Both are neat, clean and particularly bright internally. A compendium setting out specific details of various different timbers such as Alder, Ash, Gurjun, Maple Rock, Peroba, Oak, Pitch Pine etc and in particular the qualities, origins and uses of the timbers.
