1st ed, 1st imp. 244pp. Quarter bound in cloth over cloth, deckled fore-edge (a little rubbed around spine joints, small scar on verso consistent with clumsy removal of previous price label). Hint of toning, else internally neat and tight. Hard to find title, despite later reissue in paperback. The 1963 romantic comedy film starring Glenn Ford was based on this book. Timothy Pimm is a portly, middle-aged gentleman with the face of a cherub and the bustling manner of an old lady. He is in the curious profession of foisting hand-chosen husbands upon marriageable heiresses, collecting his "fee" when the girls pay off hubby's staggering "debts." 8vo
