Lightly rubbed and bumped spine ends, corners rubbed and rounded; cloth wearing. Endpapers moderately tanned. Gift inscription on front free endpaper. Internally slight gutter strains near front and rear; volume loose. Otherwise neat, clean and bright. Isabel of Castile, one of the most remarkable figures in Spanish history, her marriage to Ferdinand the Wise of Aragon bought about the union of the Spanish nationality, which had so long been divided and distracted by provincial prejudices and dynastic feuds. Under their government Spain was reduced from anarchy to order.
