1st edition, 1st printing, for Collins' Crime Club. 192pp. Red cloth boards (worn, marked, discoloured at edges, rounded at corners). Lending sheet on front free endpaper, no other library markings. Binding weakened but holding. Pages well thumbed and a few minor marks on pages. In its original dust jacket (rubbed, lightly chipped at edges, old tape repair on inside). Vintage crime fiction, featuring Nicholas Vaughan and set in an around 'Little Thatch', the cottage he rents in Devon once invalided out of the Royal Navy. Jacket fitted with archival-quality mylar wrapper to protect & prolong its life. It is not adhered to the book or to the jacket. 12mo
