160pp. Blue cloth boards (slightly soft but still sharp, clean and bright, a little rounded at corners and spine ends). Lending sheet on front free endpaper, no other library markings. Speckled text block edge, else internally neat, clean, bright and tight. In its original, edge worn and chipped dust jacket (minor loss at top of sunned spine). It's June 1940, in the cellar of a farmhouse in France. And several men are gathered - two English, five French and one German - and all of them have death on their mind.
