[1935] Brown cloth boards (edge worn, rounded at corners and spine ends, a few marks, front board a little bowed). Lending sheet on front free endpaper, no other library markings. Well thumbed pages with a little occasional spotting. Gutter repair to front endpapers. In its original worn and edge-rubbed dust jacket (spine creased and sunned, small loss at base on back). Dust jacket now in archival-quality mylar wrapper to protect & prolong the life of the jacket. It is not adhered to the book or to the dust jacket. UK edition preceded by US publication in 1934 (under the title The Second Bullet). Classic mystery story featuring that red-headed sleuth, Peter Clancy. Lee Thayer was the pen name of Emma Redington Thayer. Thayer wrote some 60 mystery novels featuring the well-mannered private investigator Peter Clancy and his valet, Wiggar.
