Not dated but 1950s. 1st UK edition - previously published in the US. Cloth covered boards (worn, rounded at corners and spine ends, a few marks). Lending sheet on front free endpaper, else no other library markings. Internally neat, clean and bright if a little shaken. In its original dust jacket, art work by Brab (scuffed and a little chapped at edges, shelf wear, spine ends and corners rubbed and fraying). Dust jacket now in archival-quality mylar wrapper to protect & prolong the life of the jacket. It is not adhered to the book or to the jacket. A novel set during the Korean War, telling vividly the story of an American airman serving in Japan, when he encounters a woman with whom he once had a passionate affair. Mackinlay Kantor (born Benjamin McKinlay Kantor), an American journalist, screenwriter and novelist, wrote more than thirty novels, several set during the American Civil War.
