xxvi, 476pp, portrait frontispiece. In blue cloth-covered boards with gilt titles on the spine. 8vo. . Boards very slightly rubbed and rounded at corners and spine ends. Two labels taped over spine. Ex college library with usual markings on front endpapers and small stamp on title page else internally neat, clean, bright and tight. This volume of Burke's correspondence covers a period of some twenty months and 218 letters, of which 114 are published here for the first time. Although Burke was already in retirement, aging and in poor health, many of the letters are powerful and long, expounding freely on themes which profoundly interested the politician.
