First edition. 112pp, plus central section of unnumbered black and white plate illustrations. In blue cloth-covered boards with gilt lettering on spine. Signed and inscribed by Gus Green on the front free endpaper, 'To Olive, Our good friend, the present chatelaine of the castle of memories, Gus'. 8vo. Cloth very gently rubbed at edges, slightly rounded on corners and spine ends. Very slightly cocked. Internally neat, clean, bright and tight. In its original laminated, illustrated dust jacket, just a little bumped at edges. From the blurb: 'Broadstairs, a Dickensian survivor, is a haven of freedom and fascination. Gus Green has travelled extensively and for him, Broadstairs merits its title of Star of the Sea more than any other place in world. This is the story of his Broadstairs years.
