First edition, first printing. xxii, 372pp, numerous black and white plate illustrations, tables and charts in text, plus fold out coloured map at rear. In cream cloth-covered boards with gilt titles on spine. 8vo. Boards a little rubbed and rounded on corners, pushed at spine tips. Ex lending library with usual markings and occasional discreet ownership stamps, else internally neat, clean, bright and tight. In its original dust jacket, a little browned and bumped at edges, lightly soiled, in an old, worn protective plastic sleeve. A history of man's impact on the island of Cyprus and its forests, telling of the island's fate under a dozen different occupations from the Hittites to the Turks and the British, and how each of these cultures affected the island's forests. Hard to find title.
