Dust jackets(s) with a Brodart-style, paper-backed, protective sleeve fitted by previous owner.
First edition, first impression (true first). 642pp. Orange publisher's cloth boards, top edge dyed (just a little shelf wear at edges). Internally a small smattering of pencil marks on rear endpaper. Slightly dust edges. In its original dust jacket (a couple of minor rubs on corners and edges, tiny closed tear from upper edge). Dust wrapper now protected in removable Brodart sleeve, to protect it from damage and prolong its life. A prodigious novel about the life and death of a great painter, Hurtle Duffield, who loves only what he paints and dodges enlistment for the first world war.
