First edition, first impression.  254, [2]pp, with colour plate frontispiece and line drawings in text.  In red publisher's cloth-covered boards with black lettering front and spine.  12mo.  Cloth a little rounded at spine ends and some very light foxing on page block edges.  Internally neat, clean, bright and tight.  In its original dust wrapper, a little bumped on edges, rubbed on extreme corners, small chip at base of a light sunned spine.  A little shelf wear visible on verso. Dust wrapper now protected in an archival-quality Mylar sleeve fitted without the use of tape or adhesives. Frank Richards was one of the many pen names of Charles Hamilton (1876-1961), one of the most popular and prolific authors of boy's school stories and long-running series stories featuring recurring characters.  Perhaps best known for the Greyfriars School stories featuring Billy Bunter, he also created St Jim's School starring Tom Merry and Rockwood School, under the pen name Owen Conquest.  We have many Charles Hamilton books in stock and can offer generous discounts to those ordering more than one book at a time - please inquire.
