Second edition. 248pp. Original green cloth boards. 8vo. Very lightly rubbed & faded at extremities. Unclipped dust jacket, small loss at head of backstrip, some chips and spotting. Front free endpaper inscribed "To Rita, Given when first you began to work with me. In a year you'll probably burn this souvenir. Noel, 1948". The recipient was Rita Smith who, for many years, was the author's secretary and typist. Jacket design by Eva Najman. DJ now protected in archival quality clear film sleeve.
