xviii, 402pp, with many colour plate illustrations and many, many further illustrations in text. Quarter bound in black leather over olive green boards with with gilt and red armorial motif on front panel, gilt lettering and repeated motif on spine. Deep green endpapers. Large folio. Leather very slightly pushed at spine ends else clean, fresh and crisp throughout.
A handsome, heavy and imposing volume compromising a bible on the work Antonio Stradivari, the renowed late 17th and early 18th century violin-maker of Cremona, Italy. A beautiful book.
