Blue buckram cloth boards with blind embossed decorations and gilt lettering to spine (boards rubbed at edges, especially on corners and spine folds and tips, sunned on spine, modern endpapers). Internally some foxing mostly affecting preliminary pages only. A handsome, impressive volume. With an introductory essay giving a brief history of the development of the application of colour to written documents. Large 4to.
