First edition. viii, 298, 32pp, with monochrome plate illustrations. In brick red cloth-covered boards with gilt lettering front and spine. Top edge gilt, other edges deckled. Black endpapers. 8vo. Cloth lightly worn, a little rubbed and rounded at corners and spine joints and ends. Previous owner's name neatly inked on the half title page. Hint of page toning on first and last few leaves.
Full of the humble gardening wisdom of a country parson tending his patch in the late 19th century.
