Nat Tate, 1928-1960 El Enigma de Un Artista American (Signed)

Nat Tate is an 1998 novel from the Scottish writer William Boyd, telling of an abstract expressionist artist who destroyed much of his own work.  The book was published as a hoax, presented as a biography of real artist and several of the biggest names in the art world were taken in. Nat Tate is a combination of the names of two of London's leading art galleries - the Tate Gallery and the National Gallery.  The publisher's held a launch party on April Fool's Eve, while Gore Vidal, who was in the hoax, supplied fake quotes to lend authenticity to the story.
