xii, 288pp plus publisher's adverts at rear. Red cloth-covered boards, richly decorated with thistle florals, gilded harp and black and gilt borders, gilt lettering front and spine. Bevelled edges. Top edge gilt. Cream, waxed endpapers. 4to. Cloth a little worn and marked, gently rubbed and rounded on corners, more heavily rubbed at ends of a sunned spine. Previous owner's name neatly inked on front free endpaper. Hint of aging to endpapers and page margins. Rear hinge cracked, very slightly loosening rear panel.
