322pp. Publisher's adverts bound in at rear. 8 tissue-guarded colour illustrations and hundreds of further black and white drawings in text. Strong red cloth-covered boards, embossed and gilt decorations, gilt lettering to spine, all edges gilt. (Boards rubbed all over, slightly faded, mildly soiled). Pinkish areas on front endpapers, and some small ink marks on frontispiece (not affecting image). Occasional spotting and browning, two pages have small indentation on edge.
