English County Songs: Words and Music

vi, 186pp.  Blue cloth-covered boards with gilt lettering on the spine (likely a later library binding).  8vo.  Ex lending library (Coventry City Libraries) with call number on spine, various library markings including barcode on front endpapers, small stamps on title and copyright pages, and occasional stamps small stamps throughout.  Cloth worn, rubbed at edges and around spine, with short crack at spine head, a little skewed and loosening.  First and last few leaves have some faint and occasional spotting and show signs of handling, small tear at top of fly leaf, occasional pencil annotations. Not a pretty copy but a good working/reference copy of this hard to find collection of English songs, arranged on a county by county basis; songs and musical scores preceded by a brief historical overview of the collection of English traditional songs.  The editors state that to the best of their knowledge some two thirds of the songs appearing in the collection had not previously appeared in print.
