First edition, first impression. 120pp, with frontispiece, title page vignette and drawings in text, all by Edward Ardizzone. Blue publisher's cloth-covered boards, gilt-stamped lettering on the spine. Cloth a little tired - a little discoloured along edges - just gently rounded at corners and spine ends. A clean ex lending library copy with bookplate on front paste down, manuscript number on front free endpaper and stamps on copyright page else. A few smudge marks on front free endpaper else internally neat, fresh and clean. Tight binding. In its original worn and torn dust wrapper, rubbed on corners and spine ends; tape repairs on interior.
