First edition, first printing. 48pp, with charming colour illustrations in text. Pictorial paper covered boards. 4to. Boards are heavily spotting on the lower fifth of front panel, otherwise a little spotting and discolouration, gently rubbed and rounded at corners and spine ends. Some faint shadow spotting on endpapers and prelims else internally neat, clean and tight. In its original laminated dust wrapper torn and marked, shelf worn and browned over spine.
Tinka is an Aboriginal boy living in the Australian outback; and this is a story of him and his animal friends when into his bushland comes a fair-haired girl who appeals to Tinka to lengthen her pigtails by magic.
