xvi, 434pp, illustrated with an original aquatint, two collotype plates and numerous half-tone plates, frontispiece tissue-guarded. Blue cloth-covered boards with gilt text on spine and on front. Spine quite heavily bumped at ends, cloth torn at heel, shelf number. Lower corners turned in slightly and bottom edge bumped, cloth worn through on lower edge in places. Gutter slightly strained at front. Free end papers slightly tanned. Light evidence of label on front paste down. Interior, clean and clear. 8vo.
