Complete in three volumes. First edition, first impression (a second edition was produced in the mid 1930s, revised by Almey Adcock).ย  1052pp, each volume with a tipped in colour plate frontispiece and 'upwards of 1200 views reproduced in photogravure' across all three volumes.ย  Volumes uniformly bound in decorated and illustrated blue cloth-covered boards, black lettering on the spine.ย  Top edge sprayed blue.ย  4to. Cloth is a little worn with the occasional minor mark, gently pushed on corners and a little rubbed on joints and spine ends, lightly sunned over spines.ย  Some faint and occasional spotting on endpapers; short corner crease to plate frontispiece in volume three, else internally neat, clean, bright and tight. A handsome and evocative complete set celebrating London as an historical and diverse city, capturing it during the interwar period of the early 20th century.ย  With many short essays on aspects of the city's cultural, industrial and architectural heritage and history. A large and heavy set (circa 5.5kg when packed) which will likely incur an additional charge for overseas delivery.
