Marigold in Godmother's House

First edition, 11th printing. 96pp, with colour plate frontispiece, numerous coloured, full page further illustrations and further coloured and monochrome illustrations in text.  Brown cloth-covered boards with brown lettering front and spine.  12mo.  Cloth is a little dull, gently pushed at spine ends, slightly sunned over spine.  Text block edges and endpapers have a little tanning, and hint of tanning in margins of first and last few leaves, else internally neat, clean and tight. Joyce Lankester Brisley (1896 to 1978) was an English children's writer, perhaps best remembered for the Milly, Molly, Mandy series.  In this volume, seven year old Marigold is excited by an invitation to stay with her godmother, who has always given her the most amazing presents.  But not even Marigold could have imagined the magical surprises that await her on her visit.
