From the book blurb: "The son of a former Canadian lumberman, John Rowlands took to the woods at an early age.ย  Later, for six years, he prospected the gold and silver country in Upper Ontario and Quebec.ย  Now, again, when the old call of the northlands became irresistible, he and his friend Henry Kane, headed once more to Hudson Bay.ย  From his early experiences and from this latest renewal of them, he has written this refreshing story of contentment and simple living through twelve months of the year."
