xvi 310pp, numerous in-text woodcuts. Brown cloth-covered boards, bevelled edges; gilt illustration on front, gilt titles on spine, top text block edge gilt, remaining edges untrimmed. 4to. Sun-faded spine, loss to corners and spine ends, soiling and wear to boards; shelf number label taped on spine. Lender's rubber stamp on top and fore text block edges; all edges starting to tan. Lender's stamps, security device and markings on endpapers and title page; tape repair to front endpapers, gutters cracked and strained, volume quite loose. Otherwise, internally neat and clean.
