x, 178pp with seventy black and white photographic plates. Tissue-guarded frontispiece. Red cloth-covered boards with blue titles on spine and front. Spine bumped at ends, sun-faded, as is top of rear board. Stain on rear board. Front corners bumped; top corner affects half of pages. Blemish on front paste down; previous owner's name on front free end paper. Some toning to page edges. 4to. A history of wooden articles in domestic use from the 16th to 19th centuries. Chapters on drinking vessels, wassail, coffee and spice mills, snuff boxes, nutcrackers, tobacco rapes and rasps, peasant arts, love-spoons, etc.
