The Observer's Book of British Ferns; The Observer's Book of Butterflies (The Observer's Pocket Book Series, Collection of Two Volumes)

A collection of two different titles from the Observer's Pocket Book series. Butterflies is a 1962 reprint; Ferns is a new edition dated 1951. Uniformly bound in cloth of varying colour, with titles front and spine.  Illustrated.  16mos.  Volumes have a little fading and discolouration of cloth at edges, slightly pushed at corners and spine ends, a little dust marking to the upper text block edge, one has a previous owner's name and a little toning,  else internally neat, clean and tight.   In illustrated dust wrappers, shelf worn and rubbed at edges, scuffed at spine tips and a little sunned over spines. Observer's Pocket books is a series of pocket-sized books published by Frederick Warne and covering topics such as hobbies, art, nature and history.  The first in the series - British Birds - was published in 1937.  The 99th title, the Observer's Book of Observer's Books was released in 1999 (by Peregrine Books) in a matching format.  The series was rounded to 100 with the publication of Wayside and Woodland in 2003.
