First edition, first impression. 510pp, copiously illustrated in black and white with a central section of colour plates. Black cloth-covered boards with gilt lettering to spine. Large and heavy 4to. Cloth gently rounded at corners, slightly pushed at spine ends. The volume is slightly bowed and pages a little wavy, else neat, clean, bright and tight throughout. In its original glossy dust wrapper, a little bumped around extreme edges and lightly shelf worn.
