First edition, first printing with correct points of issue (no number in the Quay Street address on the title page, 37 titles listed on advertisement at rear.  [iv], 315, [iii, publisher's ads].  Green cloth-covered boards with black lettering and decoration.  12mo.  Cloth covers heavily worn,  rounded at corners and spine ends, rubbed and fraying around a sunned spine, marked, especially on verso.  Text block edges dusted and uneven.  Lacks front free endpaper.  Some spotting on first few leaves, minor smudges and signs of use throughout.  Tanning on rear advertisements.  Rear hinge widely cracked, vernacular pocket on rear paste down.  Volume loose, with some signatures loosening and one leave detached. A true first of Jerome K Jerome's Three Men in a Boat, sadly in poor condition, suitable for rebinding/restoration.
