384pp. B/w plate frontis, with tissue guard, and 7 further b/w plate illustrations. In a super 1900 prize binding: blue leather covered boards with delicate inner and out gilt dentelles, six panels on highly decorated spine, separated by raised bands, bears motif in gilt on front St Paul's Preparatory School - Colet Court. Blue-gold marbled page edges and endpapers. Front paste-down endpaper carried presentation notice indicating that the book was given as a prize to one A B F Anderson (possibly the A B F Anderson who went on to become a notable architect and President of the Architecture Association but I am unable to confirm this) in the Midsummer Term of 1901, when he was in the Lower First. The presentation panel is signed by the then headmaster S[amuel] Bewsher, who founded the Colet Court School, originally known as Bewsher's, as part of the foundation of St Pauls School in 1881. Lightly rubbed at corners and head and heel of spine; a few small chips around spine; very slightly foxed on first few pages.
