First edition, first impression.  190pp, with occasional black and white illustrations.  Brown cloth-covered boards with gilt lettering on the spine.  8vo.  Cloth jsut a little pushed in at spine ends.  Minor pencil inscription on a creased front free endpaper else internally neat, clean, bright and tight.  In its original illustrated dust wrapper, faded around edges, rubbed at corners and spine ends, with some minor loss, sunned over spine. In August 1966, three policemen were shot down and killed in a quiet street in Hammersmith, London, Tom Tullett, then chief crime reporter for the Daily Mirror, gives an objective, insider account of the crime and the events leading up to it, and of the strong and immediate public reaction, with many calling for the return of the death penalty.
