First edition, first impression.  564pp, plus two sections of monochrome plate illustrations.  Black cloth-covered boards with gilt lettering on the spine.  Deep green endpapers.  8vo.  The volume is generally clean and square but there is significant soiling along the fore edge and the first and last few leaves are a little warped. text block edges a little toned.  In its original dust wrapper, slightly shelf worn, not price clipped.
