Complete in two volumes.  [xii], lxvi, 415pp; [viii], xl, 356pp.  Bound in full brown calf leather with gilt emblem on upper and lower panels, five raised bands on spines. 8vos.  Upper panels of both volumes are wholly detached.  Covers worn and rubbed, a little chipped at edges, with the patina of use and handling.  Text block edges toned.  Internally a little spotting, with some minor soiling and toning but generally clean and neat.  The text block of volume two is in two parts, being detached between pp 142 and 143. A hard to find complete set of the first English translation of Paul Mallet's early work on the history the Danes and his translation of the Icelandic Edda (both of which were first published in French in the 1750s.
