First edition, first impression. [4], 406pp. Brown cloth-covered boards, gilt titles on the spine. 8vo. Cloth just a little pushed at corners and spine ends. A little shadowing on text block edges. Internally neat, clean, bright and tight. In its original, illustrated dust wrapper, not price clipped. a little bumped on extreme edges, shelf worn. Dust wrapper protected in an old Mylar-style sleeve, fitted without the use of tape or glue.
Reginald Brett, the second Viscount Esher was a historian, Liberal politician and courtier, best known for his activities as a grey eminence.
