80pp with plentiful black and white illustrations and two large folding plans. Spiral bound in stiff card covers. 4to. Some gentle edge wear to shelf worn covers and text block edges. Internally a few minor signs of handling and one of the plans has yellowed over time.
A survey and report commissioned by Thanet District Council and undertaken by renown conservation architect Anthony Swaine in 1974. Swaine's study of Margate, together with his earlier report on historic Faversham are considered pioneering assessments of the special qualities of historic towns.
