First edition, tenth impression.Β xiv, 336pp, 25 illustrations and complete with folding, coloured map at rear.Β Oatmeal cloth-covered boards, green titles on the spine.Β Cloth a little soiled, rubbed and rounded at corners and spine ends.Β Text block edges dust darkened and dull.Β Hint of toning on endpapers and a few minor signs of handling throughout.Β In its original dust wrapper, worn and torn, chapped and toned around edges, scuffed over spine with some minor loss.
Freddie Spencer Chapman was an explorer and adventurous British Army Officer.Β In this memoir he recounts his experiences during the SecondΒ World War, spent mostly behind the lines in Japanese occupied Malaya originally training forces in guerrilla warfare, but latterly, trying to escape from Malaya and living, alone, in the jungle having lost his team and lost contact with British forces.
