First edition, first impression.  x, 214pp, with some black and white illustrations in text.  Black cloth-covered boards with gilt lettering on the spine.  8vo.  Volume is neat. clean, bright and tight throughout.  In its original illustrated dust wrapper, lightly bumped on extreme edges, with small nick at the spine head. Borley Rectory, long-regarded the most haunted house in Britain, engendered many accounts of appropriations, ghost-like voices and hauntings since it was first built in 1663.  But there has been trickery in its history too.  The controversial story of its hauntings, and their investigation on the flamboyant paranormal investigator, Harry Price, has led the Essex Rectory to secure a unique position in this history of the paranormal.
