First edition, first printing. 206pp, with black and white illustrations throughout. In red cloth-covered boards with gilt lettering on spine. In its original dust jacket. 8vo. Boards are strong, clean and square, gently rounded at spine ends; internally neat, clean, bright and tight. Erratum slip pasted onto front paste down. Dust jacket a little bumped at edges. Bill Hoole became a household name among railway enthusiasts on the East Coast route during the declining days of steam traction out of King's Cross; this volume follows his railway career, spanning some sixty years.
