Endpapers slightly tanned, two small perforations in the last page of index and rear endpaper, small label affixed to rear endpaper giving details of Jane Austen's house in Chawton, Previous owner's name on half title page. In its original worn and chapped dust jacket with minor loss at head of spine and on upper rear corner. A comprehensive guide to over 100 of the buildings in the care of the National Trust (as of 1948), giving details of their history and past ownership, and drawing attention to significant architectural and interior features (as well as contemporary opening and visiting details).
