x, 664pp, with a colour plate frontispiece and 10 further colour plates, five of which fold out; numerous black and white illustrations throughout, richly illustrated endpapers. In illustrated cloth-covered boards, illustrations front, reverse and spine, bevelled edges (rubbed at corners, rubbed and cracked at spine tips, perhaps a tad faded and very lightly soiled). Gift inscription, dated 1918, on front paste down, light spotting on endpapers only, hinges partially cracked, a little tanning at page margins. A very nice copy. Tall 4to. .
