xiv, 500pp, plus central section of plate illustrations. Deep red endpapers. In green cloth-covered boards with gilt lettering on spine (boards are strong, clean and square). Internally neat, clean, bright and tight. In its original dust jacket, hint of bumping along upper edge. Examination of the man who seized the English throne from his cousin, Richard II, his Lancasterian heritage and its influence on his kingship which, unlike many other accounts of Henry IV, gives due weight to the second half of his reign.
